Monitoring real time public vaccine confidence through social media
In a world dominated by social networks, misinformation is a central theme and always a source of great debate. One of the key themes, never in the background, is that of vaccine confidence. This talk will outline what challenges we are called to face in the Big Data era, with a specific focus on vaccination. We will dispel myths of concepts such as polarization and fake news, describing how these phenomena develop in social networks and how it is possible to mitigate them, then focusing on the phenomenon of vaccine hesitancy.
