Making citizens the eyes of policy makers: a sweet spot for hybrid AI?
Citizen-generated information (text, images, videos, data from low-cost portable sensors) can positively assist environmental governance. However citizen-generated information is inherently noisy and unreliable, unless properly processed. In this presentation we will provide evidence deriving from a large-scale European project (SCENT) that a hybrid approach, combining collective intelligence and artificial intelligence for processing citizen-generated information, is able to effectively support a relevant use case, i.e., flood risk monitoring.
